For individuals to connect with others at Palm Valley Church and to grow spiritually.
How often does a HomeTeam meet?
Three times each month. Each HomeTeam selects the day of the week which works best for its members.
How long does a HomeTeam stay together?
For 11 months. The goal of each HomeTeam is to multiply into two groups or more after being together for this length of time. All HomeTeams will either multiply or end after 11 months.
What is a HomeTeam meeting like?
Each meeting lasts approximately an hour and a half and is comprised of fellowship, Bible discussion, accountability, and prayer (men with men and women with women).
Is there a HomeTeam in my area?
HomeTeams meet in various areas of the Valley. Palm Valley Church will work to connect you with a HomeTeam that is best for you.
How often do new HomeTeams start?
HomeTeams open twice a year: Spring Session begins in February and Fall Session begins in September.
Do I have to be a member of Palm Valley Church to join a HomeTeam?
HomeTeams are a ministry of Palm Valley Church and are designed primarily for members of the church; however, non-members who call PVC their church home are welcome to belong. Attending Class 101 is required for anyone who becomes a part of a HomeTeam; these classes may be taken any time within the first 3 months of joining a HomeTeam.
Are HomeTeams the same as Bible studies?
No. HomeTeams serve a 3-fold purpose: God's Word, Christian fellowship and prayer. About 30 minutes of each meeting is devoted to meaningful discussion of the Scriptures and the message from Sunday's service. HomeTeams are small groups of people who ask questions, share insights, pray for each other, and grow in Christ together. Members learn to change unhealthy behaviors and nurture healthy relationships in safe, Bible-centered environments; they learn to look within themselves and recognize God's working in their lives; they support and pray for each other, and they become stronger Christ Followers.
May I attend a HomeTeam without my spouse?
Yes. Any person is welcome to become a part of a HomeTeam as long as he/she attends Palm Valley Church and has a genuine desire to know Jesus Christ and be known by others.
May I bring my children?
HomeTeams are for adults only. Children should not be present during HomeTeam meetings, so the parents and other members may freely discuss sensitive issues.
Is childcare provided?
Palm Valley Church does not provide childcare, but sometimes the individual HomeTeam is able to help parents by sharing their own childcare network. The group may choose to help parents who cannot afford the weekly expense of a sitter. Sometimes group members take turns sitting for the children at another home.
