Ignite Men
Men's Breakfast Fellowship is Changing
Jun 16, 2010
Friday June 4th will be the last of the regular Men's Breakfast Fellowships. This month marks 2 years since we began the fellowship and we have met every two weeks during that time. I have enjoyed it very much and God has used it tremendously in my life. Many of you that attended have told me how God has used it in your lives as well. Some men in our fellowship have had major breakthroughs because of the encouragement, accountability, and prayers of the group. Some of you have even shared with me how our group has been a life-line for you during some rough times. I want to thank all of you who have participated for being part of a movement of men in our church. I pray that this is just a seed for what God is going to do in the future.
A huge thanks to all of our helpers these past two years. Ron Kelly, Bob Steele, Johnny Young for getting there early to setup. Hal DeBerry and Mike Myers for being the doughnut crew. Mike Masso for allowing us to use Viva Life Coffee Shop and a special thanks to his staff, particularly David Mora who made sure the room was always ready for us. Thanks to the guys who led the group when I was out of town - Mitch Idol, Hal Deberry, Doug and Colin Bready. And last, but not least, I can't thank enough my wife, Connie, who faithfully supported me in this ministry, helping in many different ways and always there to register the guys.
The MBF has served it's purpose for a season, but now we are entering a new season. Providing connection opportunities for the men of Palm Valley Church is a priority, so beginning in the fall, and again in the spring, PVC will include Men's Groups as part of our 12 week community groups. As the PVC Groups Director, I am praying that you will get plugged into one of those, especially if you aren't already involved in another group. Also, please plan to attend the PVC Ignite Men's Conference in November.
Men, God is calling us to a higher purpose. He is calling us to be servant leaders in our home, in our church and our community. He is calling us to be godly men who live with integrity. He is calling us to be men of prayer. He is calling us to build a community of believers that have an impact! To do that, we need each other. So let's continue to build on what has already been done, let's not lose the momentum of His work in our hearts. I thank God for each of you and I pray that all our friendships will grow as we continue to walk through this life together. As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)
With Gratitude,
